262機関リポジトリ世界ランキング

配信のあった「京都大学メールマガジン　Vol.40」（→Web版：http://www.kyoto-u.ac.jp/m_magazine/back_n/vol_40.htm）で京都大学が国内第1位，世界第24位の評価を得たことを知った。前号のVol.39ではリポジトリに登録している論文数が日本で初めて4万件を超えたことを報じていた（→http://www.kyoto-u.ac.jp/m_magazine/back_n/vol_39.htm）。
このランキングはスペイン高等科学研究院が作成し，'Ranking Web of World Repositories'として定期的に公開しているようだ。メルマガの記事にあったのは最新版で2009年7月版だ（→http://repositories.webometrics.info/top400_rep.asp）。機関リポジトリについてはすべての機関と大学・研究センターのものがあり，ほかに大学と病院についての各種ランキングがある。
機関リポジトリをランキングするにあたっての指標などの説明は，Glossary（→http://repositories.webometrics.info/glossary.html）に詳しい。以下の表出は，トップ400のうち，トップ20までと日本の機関リポジトリのみである（日本の正式名称は省略し，大学名のみ）。
